TURPS ART SCHOOL
Turps Editors had long held the view that an artist led painting school could flourish in a climate where there is growing disquiet about the quality of painting tuition, inadequate tutorial input and a rise in tuition fees on too many established fine art courses.
It was time to respond to this in much the same way that a painting magazine run by practicing painters has fulfilled a need for many painters with a desire for intellectual stimulus and focus in this area.
Founded in 2012 based on these principles, Turps Art School has now relocated to premises within an exciting new studio and gallery development in South East London, just 10 minutes from Elephant and Castle. From the Turps Studio we offer a one year studio programme, and run an online mentoring correspondence course.

Turps Art School - Founded September 2012
